Yes, and mot too hard. The 380/420 is quite a bit more powerful than the
popup, so that is the main light and the popup is fill/catchlight in most
portrait situations (unless you pull the litelink much further away than
the camera). If the litelink is too close, then you'll get no contribution
from the popup.
