Hi all

My S.O. has a 500N and it's developed a fault - namely the autofocus hunts
wildly - if it's focused manually all is ok, but she's mad keen on taking
pictures of animals - she works at a zoo on the primate section so close-ups
(especially of the babies) are usually the order of the day and no
wise-cracks about her taking her work home with her either please :-) and
obviously the autofocus function is a great help.

Any ideas what's gone wrong here ? I've checked the lenses on my EOS5 &
EOS50E and they snap into focus on the same subject matter instantly....
I've tried switching the autofocus sensor to each of the available 3 with
little/no difference in performance.....

Right now she's got my EOS50E until we can figure out what to do/try next
with her 500N.

All ideas welcome.

Cheers

Jason
