i'm trying to figure out how to manually (not using the dep function on my
elan II) focus to incorporate hyperfocal distances with my 28-135IS. as far
as i can tell, the distance window isn't scaled to show focus distances for
different f stops.

do any of you have rules of thumb or handy tricks for hyperfocal focusing
with this lens, or is the best solution to always use a chart?

by the way. i am thinking of picking up the 17-35mm. do all ef lenses have
the same kind of distance window (lacking f stop focus depths) due to
canon's auto dep function?

if this has all been covered in the archives, could you please point me in
that direction. i am having a hard time accessing the eos digest
instructions link posted at the bottum of each submission. i constantly get
error messages when displaying that page.

just a thought. would it be possible to have the archives link posted at
the bottum of the digest page? this would make it easier for new list
members to find the archives, and would cut down on repeat questions.

thanks in advance for your help.
