Although there will be wear on the diaphragm blades it should not be
noticeable. The aperture diaphragm is designed and made to do this kind
of thing. It will only be part of a roll of film. It might be a
concern if the blades closed to f/22 100000 times.
The lens cap is designed to protect the lens. I think being light proof
is secondary in it's design.
