Don't know about the eos30, but many Canon's have that.  My Eos3 and my
contax g1 both have it.  Look in your manual.  It might be there already.

What I really want is to be able to stick in a roll that I have
partially shot before and select a frame number to have the camera
automatically advance to without having to shoot through the previous
frames with a lens cap on.  Then we would really have reasonably
interchangeable film cameras.
