Hi Ron,
Every so often, I take off my 28-135 or 100-400 and mount
a lighter lenses (such as 35-80 III or 50 f/1.8) for walking
around.
The 28-135 is a bit big for a family to lug around.
Have you considered the EF 28-80 or 28-90 for when weight
is a premium, and you want to use the built-in flash?
Alternatively, an EF 50mm f/1.8 II?
