I feel the same way. Many times you really need that 24mm when
photographing in the cities. But if there is enough distance, the 45 might
be better.

This is something I would have suggested also. The Canon EF 2x does fit
into the TS-E lenses. That will give you 48mm lens. Try that. Sure the
quality will suffer a bit, but I think it's still worth a try. (I
personally can accept the quality from that combo easily.) BTW, don't you
get more shifting capability with 24+2x than with 45...

Sorry, I too can not compare the lenses you ask. I don't own either, and I
have only used the TS-E 24mm L...
