Nikon has put out a Professional camera, the D1 that is in wide use.
Canon has not. The D30 is a "prosumer" camera and falls short of the D1 in 
many respects. Build, speed AF focus abilities.
Nikon has now produced TWO new professional cameras, an updated version of 
the D1, the D1H and a higher resolution addition the D1X, all before Canon 
has even announced what the specs of it's FIRST pro camera will be!

If you think Canon is "far ahead", you have your head buried in the sand :o)

I have the Canon D30 so I probably have more to be upset about than you do!
