Dear list,

I just had my negative processed with the photos printed 3R. I followed Bob
Talbot's suggestion to find out myself which 90% area is covered by my EOS
30 viewfinder. Judging from the prints, Henry Posner was right when he
mentioned that the hidden area was the outer band of all 4 sides.
So on negative, we have extra image on top, bottom, left and right that we
would not see in viewfinder (EOS 30). But on prints, we have extra image on
top and bottom and on left OR right depending on which side our printer
crops. My prints have extra image on the left.
I tested it using papers with grid (thanks to Bob) and 28-80L:
At 80 to 50 mm, lines are still straight
At 35mm, lines are a bit curved but very little.
At 28 mm, curvature is more obvious
On Sigma 105 EX, lines are straight
On Sigma 17-35 EX, at 35mm, curvature is worse than 28-80L

Cheers,
Luke
