Good news for the users of the Canon lenses: 2 new teleconverters will hit
the market soon,, the 1.4 and 2x TC.
The 1.4x and 2x TC, labeled II, are weather sealed as per the new L-IS
teleconverters and are totally compatible with them... With 7 lenses in 5
groups, with a multilayer treatment, the 2x TC is 58mm long and weights
about 265g. The 1.4x TC is composed of 5 lenses in 4 groups, measures 27mm
long and weights about 220g.
The TCs are very pricey (3800F, same price for both). Optical quality is
improved.
