current TCs and these new ones - same magnification, No IS - what is

My guess - the price - 3x more than old one - and all for adding a little
rubber rings on each end, to make a better seal. Man, I hope Canon would
make something more useful - like 28-70L 2.8 IS, or even 24/28-200 IS USM, or
put IS on their 35-350L lens.
