I bought a used Tokina 28-70mm lens which has a rough spot when turning the
focusing ring. I used it for a day on my Elan iie and the camera has
failed. The problems is now when the shutter is pushed the camera locks up
regardless of the lens I use. I took it to a camera shop and they said
the focusing electronics is bad. Has anyone had a similar problem. I have
an electrical background and could under stand if the focusing motor drew
too much current through the camera, but you would think there would be a
current limiting circuit in the camera. Any comments besides "buyer
beware".
