Very handy if you wish to engage in extensive image manipulation

In my day as a drum scanner operator Kodak 35mm transparency material could
easily produce a Max log density of 6.0 - a 21/4 sq 4.6 and a 5X4 3.6 DMax,
so the Nikon scores higher up the repro richter scale than the Canon, and
the 500 extra on the readies side is but a drop in the ocean when compared
to the benefits.

In addition the Nikon is likely to be on the market 2 months ahead of the
Canon.
