I just got back some photos from the minilab taken with the 100-400L in
mode 1 Image Stabilisation mode. I took them in low light conditions in
a dark corner of my garden of a spider + web, trying to finish off a
roll of film. I really didn't expect them to turn out.

The exposure on Fuji 400 print was 1/30s, f5.6. Focal length 400mm. Body
EOS3+PBE2. Handheld, no flash.

To my amazement the image was pin sharp with no evidence of camera
shake! The picture looked as if it was tripod mounted. This works out to
be a 4 stop improvement in handholdability.

I wonder if other people have had such similar success with this lens.

I must say that I am most happy with this lens - it has impressed me
with the image quality, build quality and handling. I would strongly
recommend this lens to anyone who is thinking about getting a long zoom.
