: I recently purchased a grey market canon 70-200/4 L lens from
: adorama. Seems like a well built lens except that the inner zoom
: barrel seems a little loose. It rattles when shaken and it makes
: some noise when it autofocuses--especially if its hunting for focus.
: Did I get one that quality control missed or am I just being to
: picky? This is my first L lens so I'm not sure what to expect.
: Maybe this is normal for longer focal length metal lenses--especially
: zooms. My 85/1.8 is quieter focusing and has no loose rattle, but
: then, its a fixed focal length lens too. Should I send my lens back
: and hope for a better one? Thanks.

I'm curious too. What should we expect from Canon L series? I wish I could
try one them, but there is none available in my area. I once played with
Nikon 20-35mm f/2.8 on Ritz camera store. It feels very solid. Does Canon L
series on the same range have the same quality level as Nikon's high-end
lenses?
