Don't hold your breath, as helpful as Canon Canada has been many times in my
own personal experience, I would bet you a cup of coffee that if she calls
back it would be "I'm sorry I'm not able to find out anything", EVEN if she
does know the existence of this lens (which I highly doubt so).

If the gag order is truly in effect, no one in Canon Canada is going to risk
potentially loosing their job releasing this info without authorization
anyway, just think even if the individual is only disciplined but not
dismissed, imagine being the employee that can not be trusted?  No way any
sane person would take that chance.
