Were Canon an unscrupulous manufacturer you could be sure that before
every advance they looked round at the aftermarket lenses and found
little chinks that would exploit the weaknesses. But of course that
would be acting like Microsoft works (allegedly): no way would Canon
even consider it: after all, the majority of their customers uses
Sigma/Tamron lenses don't they?
And of course, out of consideration for their customers, they probably
even keep the aftermarket suppliers up to speed with proposed changes
so Canon's own customers don't get to suffer.
But I could be wrong: in which case so is Canon.
