The booster fit is fine, in fact I had an older bag I used to use with a
Minolta X700 with attached MD-1 motor and Tokina 80-200 f/2.8, and this fit
the Canon fine, but was too short/narrow to accomodate the Canon 70-200
f/2.8L with the hood. In fact, I wish somebody would come over and help me
find that old bag, I really liked it and I've managed to misplace it. (I
think it would have worked fine with the 28-135.

As for shoulder balance, I'm pretty heavy and so is the loaded Pro AW just
because all of the stuff in it (and in me!), but I can stay comfortable with
it on the sidelines for the duration of a game.
