Tom, I actually have really liked the Rebel 2000, it was a great camera for me to start with. The things I don't like about it are the slow fps and the rather slow autofocus (even with a USM lens) when trying to track moving objects, like flying birds. I also don't like the ability to select the metering method...as mentioned earlier the metering method is tied to the camera mode. I'm thinking about keeping mine as a backup body when I decide to upgrade.... >From: "Tom DelRosario" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> >Subject: Re: EOS upgrading from Rebel to Elan, A2, or Elan 7??? > >Sorry this doesn't answer your question, but I am debtating whether to get Rebel 2000 or Elan 7 (my current body died). What is it about the Rebel 2000 that you outgrew? Was it just the faster fps, the metering, and the mirror lockup or is it >something else in addition? > >I assume that the Rebel 2000 only uses matrix metering, how often have you found the need for a spot meter (BTW, the Elan 7 doesn't have a "true" spot meter, but only 10%). > >Tom D.
