Hi Tom, Under what conditions did you find it underexposing? Notwithstanding
that some -3 owners did seem to have a legimate 1/3 - 1/2 stop general
under-exposure with early models, I think that the advice you received is
probably crap. I bought one last year and know of several other people who
have bought since and the general exposure is fine. I do find that it has a
greater tendency to under-expose a bright scene than the 1v which I use more
often, but this is fairly easily compensated for when you are expecting it.
In regard to your question on compensation, you would set an ambient
over-exposure on the camera body but not the flash unit, in your situation.
But if you have run some bracketed exposures on slide film and are sure
there is a problem, I would suggest taking it back (with the slides) and
swapping it over for another body immediately.
