Hi John,

That is very interesting.  I could hear the sound effect you describe
on my EOS 1000FN, which was noisy enough to wake the dead :-)

On my Elan 7E, however, the "silent" rewind is SO quiet that I missed a
film rewind on more than one occasion.

No wonder the camera will not shoot: I've run out of film!
