The Elans have a one year warranty. I just bought an Elan 7 from
cameraworld.com and got the additional 4 year extended Canon warranty for
$39.99 (same price at B&H). That's a total of five years of piece of mind
coverage for not having to worry about repair costs. One repair or
adjustment and you will be glad you have it - been there, done that. You
can't beat it! For the extended warranty make sure you buy a "USA" model
(not grey market) and you have to buy the warranty at the time of camera
purchase.
