If it gives you peace of mind that's a good thing.
However, I've had 9 Canon bodies over the course of 22 years (5 in my
possession now) and I've only had one repair (after I dropped my AE-1).
If I'd paid $40/body I'd have spent enough money to pay for a used lens
or two!
