I looked into this last fall, when I expected to go to
Japan. At that time I found I really couldn't save
any money in Japan. Because of exchange rates, Japan
is VERY expensive for Americans, and most Japanese
items are cheaper here than there. (In face, there
was (maybe still is), and big vacation trade in Guam
from Japanes tourists going there to buy Japanese
watches, cameras and electronics).
