What if you using 'hyperfocal focusing' what is then the distance for the
right object? What if the lens is at infinite (Many lenses after ~10 meters
or even less) then what do you do when the subject is further away? (a
powerfull flash can reach 50meter without a problem) What with TS lenses?
In this cases the distance-info is not useable, so Canon is not that dumb.
