Alternative ways to get to 800mm (none preserve autofocus)

Canon EF  400mm f/5.6 L (used if necessary) + 2X TC
Sigma/Tokina/Tamron 400mm f/5.6 + 2X TC
800mm mirror lens (used Vivitar Series 1 Solid Cat comes to mind)
