Hi Henry,
You must be using Netscape. The Altavista translator appears to be
incompatible with some versions of Netscape.
You might have to use an alternate browser, or perhaps try plugging
http://www.tamron.co.jp
into the main translate form at:
http://babel.altavista.com/
or
http://www.tranexp.com:2000/
