I've found it worthwhile with my Elan IIe, both for shading my eye glassed
eye outdoors and for providing a conformable rest for my eye glassed eye to
press against consistently.
Two notes, it has to be removed to change film, and in storage, the bulk of
it folds up over the flash/prism, so the camera doesn't take anymore room
in a camera bag.
I've found it a very useful item for those of us who shoot while wearing
glasses.
