Howard,
I have the Manfrotto 454 Micro Positioning Plate (Bogen 3419).
This has a worm drive. Very useful for fine adjustment.
It really needs a quick release clamp fitting on top, something like the RRS
B2 Pro clamp.
B&H have a picture. Search for 3419.
