Hi Fred,

The G1 is not very wide at its wide end (equiv 34-102mm). You
might not get a "wide eye", unless you use that screwed on
wide-angle adapter on that plastic funnel adapter, and even
then you will only get a 27mm field of view:

The only other way to get a wider field of view is to take
several digital pictures and stitch them together in software.
If you do this, you can see the clear difference between barrel
distortion (a lens defect) and barrel perspective (an effect
of a wide angle of view).

It might be easier just to try the 28-135 first hand, and
use the return policy if necessary.
