Well, the current surface of the ES 65 is kind of dull.
Making the assumption that it does not melt the plastic, how
does the "Dullcote" finish compare to the Canon's plastic lens
hood finish? Or to proper rayon flocking for that matter?

P.S. I suspect that Canon used rayon flocking and not Dullcote
in the hood and back of the barrel of the EF 200 f/2.8 L for a
reason.
