Hi Ken, I presume you're comparing the enamel to plastics which outgas even long after they're "cured." This outgassing is one of the reasons you need to clean lenses after long periods of dry, clean storage--or so I've read. Anyway, I guess this is purely academnic anyway...If a problem existed, I would just store the hood separately from the rest of my gear.
