Yes, absolutely. Last weekend I had another opportunity to use my
28-135 IS USM zoom for some interiors. Tripod and flash not allowed,
with ISO 1600 print film and the IS zoom I got some - hopefully nice -
shots at 1/4 to 1/8 second f/5.6 - f/8 handheld. I could have used
the 28-70 f/2.8 at f/2.8, but then the DOF would have been still
shallower.
