The "Checkrated" guidelines are Pop Photo's set of guidelines that their
mail-order advertisers are supposed to follow when dealing with Pop Photo
readers. There are about a dozen guidelines that the advertisters are supposed
to follow, about 6 tips for readers when dealing with these places and
'complaint department' at Pop Photo that you can write if you have problems
with said firms.
Of course, you're supposed to identify yourself as an Pop Photo reader when
calling these places "To assure this service."
In other words it's a quality assurance thing.
