LOL, while I have not "tested" some of these stores recently, I did call
three of the places a year ago that had real good prices on the EF20-35, one
never answered the phone regardless what time of the day or which day of the
week I called.

The second one was the best, "Sir, the one that's on sale has plastic lenses
and is made in (some 3rd world country), you don't want to buy THAT lens,
you WANT to buy the one that's made in Japan, and it is just a LITTLE MORE
than the cheap plastic lens", and of course the "Japan Made" lens was at
least the same price as other legitimate stores, AND they don't have the
cheap plastic lens in stock and they don't know when they will come in.

The third store was "sold out" on the lens at the low price.....

I wrote to Pop Photo, they took some information and that is the last I've
heard about it, and several month later the ads from these stores were still
in the magazine.

Checkrated? Pardon me, call me cynical, I have a hard time putting any
value to it.

You are best to stick the good stores like B&H, Camera World Oregon, KEH
etc., you may pay a bit more, but it's worth it.

Regards,

Ken
