I just received a Sigma 17-35 f2.8-4 from Cameraworld, and, frankly I'm
impressed with its build quality. I haven't shot with it yet, but I've
heard it comes close to the Canon equivalent for sharpness, and you are
going to get pretty significant distortion at 17mm, no matter what. But
at $439 vs. $1229, there are other lenses that I can buy now.
And then throw in the 15 mm f2.8 fisheye at close to $300 less than the
Canon version, and I've saved a chunk of money on lenses that come close
to Canon quality, at least so I've heard. And the build of these is
more than acceptable, especially for lenses that won't be everyday
lenses.
I'll let you guys know how they shoot, I'll be using them this week.
