Hi,
Anybody on the list, who had problems with the Sigma EX 2xConverter?
Yesterday I went out shooting, and when I took out my Converter, I
heard a strange noise. I opened the bag, and found two pieces: the
optics and the barrel. Very interesting to see a converter from the
inside :-(
I immediately sent it to Sigma Germany and I asked them to replace
it, not to repair it. Luckily I still have warranty on it.
Tomorrow I will call them and hear what they will do. Ah, I�m very
angry about that. Up to now, I was quite happy with my choice (I also
have the Sigma 2.8/70-200 and the 2.8-4/17-35, but now I tend to
trade it for some genuine Canon stuff).
I also talked to some second-hand camera dealers and they all told
me, that with Sigma lenses, they often have problems. Some of them -
for example Photo Sauter in Munich, Germany - even refuse to trade in
used Sigma stuff when you buy new equipment.
So to me it seems that the optical side of the Sigmas is o.k., but on
the mechanical side they still have to do some homework.
