That's what I'll be doing a little of next weekend - rare leopards 
breeding project in the UK. Ordered some Provia 400F for it as I 
suspect it will be dull weather (standard issue for the UK when you 
want to shoot wildlife!) but it was out of stock!

I've yet to use mine but I would think that so long as the camera is 
on a good tripod, you can hand hold the flash and fire the camera at 
the same time. The problem might be scaring the wildlife as you 
position the flash! I guess E-TTL would actually be an advantage in 
that the pre-flashes might go a little way to reducing red-eye (which 
with nocturnal animals must be a significant problem).
