If you have or are about to have a B1, I strongly recommend you get hold of
a Really Right Stuff catalog. Their service is outstanding, their
merchandise is superb, and you won't be sorry. I have Arca B1's on two
tripods, plus a Really Right Stuff Arca-style clamp on a monopod. Now,
whenever I get a new camera or collared lens I just automatically send away
for an RRS plate from their catalog.

Yes, they are expensive, but they're worth every penny. Yes, you do need
separate plates for the EOS 3 and the PB-E2. I myself didn't get the plate
for the -3, I just leave the PB-E2 on all the time. And warning: for some
unspecified reason they don't even make a plate for the BP-E1 (note BP, not
PB). What this made me do was sell my BP-E1 and get a second PB-E2 (my first
one stays on my 1V) just so I could have RRS plates on everything...but I
throw way too much money at Canon.
