HiYa Plums,
We have missed you on WJM's EOS List! No Plum-Posts for over a month!
Speaking of emerald green, you just reminded me of the other aspect
of whale watching that cannot be "manufactured": I got /very/ seasick
on that last trip on Fleuve St Laurent out of Baie St Catherine.
Let just say: Protect your EOS gear well :-)
Was it you had made a point of using predictive AF for whale shots?
(must check the List archives again) The REBEL and REBEL II series
absolutely DO NOT have predictive AF. Putting the camera in "SPORTS"
mode might give the best AF performance from this model (which also
only focusses on vertical detail).
Cheers
Julian Loke
P.S. I second what Plums says about luck. If you want good shots,
several trips might be needed. and if physically able to do so :-)
