note: I've also posted this to the Elan7E list; apologies to those who read
both.
G'day all,
Well I've had my EOS 30 for 2 days now, slowly getting used to it. Just
thankful I've finally got an SLR. I've been testing what exposure readings
I'm getting from the camera.. I can't explain it.
In all these I focus/expose on the same location.
Av mode:
Suggests 1/60 @ f/1.8 w/flash
Suggests 1/10 @ f/4.0 w/flash
Tv mode:
As per Av
P mode:
Suggests 1/60 @ f/4.0 w/ flash
I don't understand why P mode has more latitude with the exposure... Can
anybody explain this to me?
I'm trying to find out because I'll be taking some shots in a restaurant
tomorrow night, and so it will probably be a low-light occasion. I'll be
using ISO 800 handheld, and so I'm trying to figure out if there is
something I'm missing while using Av/Tv modes. I'd prefer not to use the P
mode, but so far I can't get acceptable shutter times with Av mode in dull
light. Any help appreciated!
Many thanks,
Brad
