Hi DOn,

I got some great pictures (my favourite one for example) with canon 28-80.
So I never ssaid anything bad about it in my email, jsut that it is the
cheaper one, not the 28-80 L lens that I have !

Tokina 28-80 is a fine lens. I didn't have any flare problems, maybe Zimmy
got a bad one. Mine works fine, i use the hood almost all the time though.
Got some really nice pictrures with it. It is sharp, and contrast with color
films seems nice, I do not shoot slides though.... This is my all around
lens at this point. I bought a 70-200 4L lens, my first L lens, so I want to
compare and see. I have a roll of film I am trying to finish so i might just
do that tomorrow morning. Resolution wise, I think some guy did a test and
found that 28-105 siginificantly outperforms the 28-80 3.5-5/6

Why doesn't canon make a fast lens that is also cheap? What I mean is that L
lenses are expensive not only because htey are 2.8 etc but also multicoated,
rugged etc. I do not want those, I just want a fast lens that I can use, but
my only option is a professional lens!

cheers,
evrim
ps/ i changed the subject because i do not want the thread to diverge from
my original question. thanks.
