Hi Neil,

Yes there is a significant amount of blurring with the faster f/1.8 lens
when compared to the f/2.8 lenses.  At f/1.8 you do have to be very careful
about focus lock and subject movement can be a severe challenge.  I have an
EF 85 1.8USM, EF 28-70 2.8L, EF 70-200 2.8L and EF 300 2.8L among several
others and for background blur the EF 85 1.8USM is untouchable especially
where you cannot control the subject to background distance.  The EF 300
2.8L works really well in this case if you have the space to get far enough
away from your subject and really want to minimize the amount of background
clutter and blow it out at the same time.
