Hi Peter, I can't agree with this. When you fit a TC the smaller aperture,
and therefore reduced light to sensors, does indeed affect the AF operation.
I have done this many times in practice when fitting TC's to produce
different shot angles with unchanged light at the same track location. The
AF performance is reduced noticably as the convertors are fitted. You are of
course right in that lower lighting produces the same effect of lowering AF
performance, particularly indoors.
