I use a 3 for soccer with great success. I think the
more versatile AF, and somewhat better AF performance
make make it a better choice than the 1nRS.
As for rs mode, be sure you check out the limitations.
And the pellicle mirror is a drawback if you tend to
change lenses in the field. Dust and dirt on the
mirror affect your pictures. I used to have an RT
(also pellicle mirror), and hated the thought of
changes lenses on a dry, windy day.
