I have the 17-35, 28-70, 100-400 which are 77mm. I also have the 28-135
IS, 45 T/S, 90 T/S and 85 f/1.8 lenses which use different size
filters. I use all 77mm filters via step-up adapters. I still use lens
hoods. I recommend the "Tiffen" rubber 77mm lens hood and the B+W metal
black aluminum telephoto (long) screwin 77mm screwin lens hood. The
rubber lens hoods works well on the 28-135 and the 45. The aluminum
hood works great with the 85 & 90 and is front threaded so you can add
filters to the front of the lens hood if wanted.
