It could be both. The 3 shows more in the viewfinder then the ElanII.
Also the relief of the Nikon I tried was better.
Actually, I had the same problem when switching from the EOS5 to the
1n. I always framed to tight or even cut some stuff out. After I got
used to it I did prefer the bigger picture in the viewfinder.
