The Better Beamer narrows the beam and extends the beam approx. 1 (one)
stop. If you use a lens shorter than 300mm, the image will look like
someone is shining a flashlight (bright in the center and darker on the
outside edges). I stress that you only gain 1 stop. I have both the
Better Beamer and Tory Lepp's Flash Extender and they both only help 1
stop. I think their claim of a 3 stop increase requires you to stand in
a long hallway with all the walls, floors and ceilings were painted
white. I have tested with my Sekonic 508 flash meter with the
assistance of two professional shooters.
