Yes, of course !

I'm curious to see what can be the gain with a wide-angle lens.
I think that IS is more usefull on a 28-70 for example, for some works.

If Canon will release a new 17-35L with IS, I'm sure that he will improve
various other things.
For example, dust & moisture resistance, hopefully optical performances,
etc...

The choice will be harder, than between IS version or not IS version !!
