Hi. I am considering one of these flashes. I heard that due to the trigger
voltage, certain models can not be used with EOS cameras. HOw do I know
which ones are safe?

And your experiences with these flashes?

The older models had hire voltage.
If you buy a 285 it should be a 285HV which has the lower trigger voltage.
New 283 just say 283 but again new from a dealer is safe to assume they have
lower trigger voltages.
I have used both old and new 285s and prefer the newer one which can also be
powered by a Quantum HV battery.
They are very accurate in terms of output and versatile with its manual
flash zoom head.
I bought the original in 1977 and then a new 285HV in 1998. The original is
still working.
